About the Saskatchewan Epidemiology Association

The Saskatchewan Epidemiology Association (SEA) is an organization of leaders in epidemiology in Saskatchewan. SEA’s primary mission is to advance the understanding and application of epidemiology through continuing education and networking. SEA’s main values are knowledge, collaboration and learning.

Annual Symposium:

The Saskatchewan Epidemiology Association hosts an annual symposium which is held in-person, alternating between Regina and Saskatoon. In 2020, a symposium wasn’t held due to the pandemic, and in 2021 a half-day symposium was hosted virtually. In 2022, a full-day event will be hosted virtually, with anticipation that the 2023 event will be back again in-person.

Membership:

Members of the association include epidemiologists, biostatisticians, physicians, veterinarians, health information management professionals, or other individuals whose occupation and/or interest include the preparation, participation and use of epidemiological products, teaching of the science of epidemiology and its applications, evidence-based program planning, program evaluation, health status assessment, health needs assessment, and health surveillance. Membership is only available at the time of registration for the upcoming annual symposium. Members pay a membership fee established by the Board of Directors and have full voting privileges. Membership is for one year, and the member fees are due on the final day for registration for the yearly symposium. Further details may be found in the Bylaws.
